Exam Practice Resources
These provide vital exam practice in the run-up to the exam. Teachers might:
use new papers as mock exams
'cherry pick' questions to give out for homework
give students new papers in the weeks before an exam so that they can practise their timing, knowledge and skills (students could do the exams under exam conditions and then, using Sample Answers and Examiner's advice, find out where they need to improve)
use Sample Answers/Examiner's Advice to help students revise
give out Sample Answers for inclusion in students' notes
Use Sample Answers as the basis for class discussion.
homework exercises for use during the teaching of a topic.
The end-of-topic tests have a variety question types (multiple choice, short answer and longer questions). Each time they finish teaching a topic, teachers have the choice of giving students a quick test to recap on recent work or a more formal exam-style practice session.
The homework exercises provide students with two tasks – one to be completed when a student is part-way through a topic, the other when the student nears the end of a topic. The assumption is that teachers are unlikely to set more than two pieces of homework on a single topic.
Sample Answers are provided to all questions asked in the Resource.
